Just started a good read: Atomic Habits

Atomic Habits

I just wanted to pop in and share what I’ve been reading lately, Atomic Habits by James Clear. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably tried to build some new habits. Maybe drinking more water or cutting back on that sweet tea we all love? And, if you’re really like me, sticking to those habits sometimes feels about as easy as trying to shove a Cadillac up your nose. Impossible!

So, I picked up Atomic Habits hoping for some helpful tips, and honestly, it didn’t let me down. The author breaks everything down in a way that’s super simple and relatable. It’s all about making tiny changes that, over time, add up to something huge. No overnight miracles.

What I really liked is that the book doesn’t just explain what habits are, it shows you how to actually make them stick. He talks about these “four laws” of behavior change, which are like a simple roadmap for tweaking your daily routines to create real change. The ideas about making habits obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying really hit home for me. For example, I’ve been trying to drink more water, and just swapping my usual lunch tea for water and keeping a bottle nearby has helped me drink way more without even thinking about it.

The author shares fun stories from Olympic champions and comedians to show how these ideas work in real life, which makes it super engaging.

I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first. I’ve read plenty of self-help books that promise the world but don’t deliver. But this one’s different. It’s practical without being preachy, and it actually feels doable.

The only downside? Some parts felt a bit repetitive. It’s kind of like hearing the same old story from Aunt Patty at every family get-together. We get it, Aunt Patty!

Overall, if you want to make some positive changes but don’t want a huge overhaul, Atomic Habits is definitely worth a read.

Alright, that’s all for now—remember, it’s all about those tiny steps! Catch y’all later!
XOXO, Liz
